Everything Old Is New Again

With all of the recent advances in video technology, I actually feel that video can sometimes look too good; the pristine image sometimes lacks "warmth", for lack of a better term. So, it's always fun for me to produce brief segments that incorporate an entirely different look.

The old 8mm film style that we associate with home movies can be a novel way to liven up a piece. Incorporating less-than-steady camera work, and overexposed, desaturated colors that are all hallmarks of a an old "home" movie, this segment is from just after a couple's wedding ceremony at the Sarasota Ritz Carlton as they were shooting their formal photos.

It's a very distinctive look, and I try not to overdo it with more than just 90 seconds worth. Hope you like it!

Stuff? Nonsense?

I wasn't originally certain that I would maintain a blog. The majority of information about my wedding video services could be found on my website, so what could I possibly write on a blog? Ultimately I decided that I would simply write and post about what interests me. Music will certainly play a big part in that. Otherwise, I hope you'll forgive me if this ends up being thematically all over the map! Oh, and FYI, "Stuff and Nonsense" is the name of a song by an excellent band called Split Enz.
